From September, 2012 through May, 2013, Children's Story Time will happen at 10a.m. on the first Saturday of every month. As of September, 2013, Story Time has been suspended due to lack of attendance. We will be happy to resume it should there be expressed interest from our patrons.

UPDATE:  Attendance at StoryTime was sparse, to say the least, last school year.  For September and October of this new school year (2013-14), there was one kid who accidentally attended.   My volunteer and I were prepared the first Saturday of each month to do a StoryTime program, but no kids have been coming.  The sign out front always mentions the program, we've posted flyers around town advertising StoryTime, a notice gets in the school newsletter.  Maybe families are just too busy, or what?  Anyway, if StoryTime seems like something you'd really like to have happening at Lacona Library, you'll need to make your voice heard and then (gasp!) actually ATTEND.  Public libraries are for YOU, the public, and a lot of work goes into planning and offering programming to serve the community.  Don't let opportunities go by for you or your child to get the most out of this valuable local resource.

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
